However, at the village level, integrated services for the elderly are still limited, so it often causes welfare problems. RANDA House Innovation is present as a strategy to build a community-based Elderly-Friendly Village in Katumbangan Village. This activity aims to design, launch, and implement an integrated service model for the elderly that is integrated with local cultural approaches. The implementation method is carried out through a participatory approach involving the village government, lecturers, students, elderly families, health cadres, and cross-sector stakeholders. The series of activities includes cross-generational education through the Elderly Family School, the implementation of Fine Arts Group Activity Therapy, the empowerment of the elderly economy through product bazaars, and the signing of joint commitments. The results of the activity showed high enthusiasm from the elderly, families, and the village community; increased family knowledge about elderly care; as well as policy support from the village to district levels. RANDA House's innovation can be replicated in other villages as an effort to strengthen the inclusive and dignified quality of life of the elderly.
Fredy Akbar K, Syamsidar Syamsidar, Adi Hermawan Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat JUPEMANDO https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/ https://www.mcj.yamando.id/index.php/JUPEMANDO/article/view/230 Sun, 07 Sep 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Optimalisasi Posyandu Lansia Melalui Pemeriksaan Kesehatan di Desa Sumare Kabupaten Mamuju https://www.mcj.yamando.id/index.php/JUPEMANDO/article/view/249
Health check-ups are crucial, especially for the elderly, as they are susceptible to disease. Therefore, this community service activity aims to support and strengthen the existence of the elderly integrated health post (Posyandu) by providing free health check-ups, education on healthy lifestyles, and assistance in monitoring the health of the elderly. The methods used included free physical examinations, health consultations, health education, vitamin distribution, and health recording and monitoring. This activity involved a team of lecturers, students, medical personnel, and community health workers who provided health services to the community. The results provided information on public health, focusing on the elderly. Physical examinations included height, weight, blood pressure, blood sugar, and uric acid levels. Providing health education is expected to be beneficial in helping the community, especially the elderly, improve their health. In conclusion, the Posyandu activities for the elderly were well-implemented and received a positive response from the community, particularly the elderly.
Nasrullah Nasrullah, Armidayanti Armidayanti, Dewarawati Patandean, Kadek Dwi Suarjana, Asnuddin Sokong, Nurfadhillah Salahuddin, Muh. The case study method was applied to 8 adult male patients at RSKD Dadi Makassar for two weeks in seven structured TAKS sessions. Results showed a significant improvement in patients' verbal communication skills, including introducing themselves, getting acquainted, conversing, and cooperating. The majority of patients showed verbal improvement (87.5%), while active nonverbal participation was 75%. However, the use of appropriate body language was still low (0%), indicating an increase in verbal dominance. The client's social isolation is dominated by psychological factors (unpleasant experiences, emotional trauma). TAKS has been shown to be effective in reducing symptoms of social isolation and gradually improving patients' social skills. Therefore, TAKS is recommended as an integral intervention in psychiatric rehabilitation. For sustainability and improved outcomes, more intensive nonverbal exercises are recommended as well as further research on the integration and long-term effectiveness of TAKS.
Fredy Akbar K, Ashriady Ashriady, Aswat Aswat, Musdalifah Musdalifah, Nurul Aeni Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat JUPEMANDO https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/ https://www.mcj.yamando.id/index.php/JUPEMANDO/article/view/253 Sun, 07 Sep 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Edukasi Pencegahan Stunting di 1000 Hari Pertama Kehidupan di Desa Tolisu dan Desa Rusa Kencana Kabupaten Banggai https://www.mcj.yamando.id/index.php/JUPEMANDO/article/view/243
Stunting remains a major public health problem in Indonesia, with lasting effects on children’s growth and development. The first 1,000 days of life, from pregnancy to the age of two, is a critical period to prevent stunting. Limited knowledge of nutrition, parenting, and healthy behaviors among pregnant women and families contributes to its high prevalence. This community service aimed to improve pregnant women’s knowledge about stunting prevention through participatory education. The activity was conducted in Tolisu and Rusa Kencana Villages, Toili II Health Center, Banggai, in July 2025 with 30 pregnant women. Counseling sessions used the Maternal and Child Health handbook and interactive discussions, with knowledge assessed using pre-test and post-test. Results showed a 42% increase in average scores (from 8.9 to 9.5). The program improved awareness of balanced nutrition, exclusive breastfeeding, and healthy practices. This educational intervention proved effective and can be sustained in rural communities.
Dewi T. The activity was held at Posyandu Seruni, Mapane Tambu Village, Balaesang District, Donggala Regency, Central Sulawesi, on July 22 - 28, 2025. The main target is 15 active cadres, with mothers under five as indirect beneficiaries. The implementation method includes interactive training, counseling, field practice, and mentoring. The material provided includes the basic concept of stunting, anthropometric measurement techniques, classification of nutritional status, and health communication using leaflet media. The evaluation was carried out through observation of cadre practice, group discussions, short questionnaires, and oral feedback from participants. The results of the activity showed an increase in cadres' understanding of the concept of stunting and skills in conducting early detection independently. Media leaflets have been proven to help in the educational process for mothers under five. This activity has a positive impact on the readiness of cadres as the spearhead of monitoring child growth and development at the posyandu level. It is hoped that similar training can be carried out on an ongoing basis to strengthen stunting prevention in the community.
Fitriani Fitriani, Zamli Zamli Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat JUPEMANDO https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/ https://www.mcj.yamando.id/index.php/JUPEMANDO/article/view/250 Sun, 07 Sep 2025 00:00:00 +0000
